Sugar Melon Sweet
Ingredients
3 kilograms of Green melon
1 ½ kilogram of Sugar
500 grams of Brown sugar
500 grams of Grated panela
1 Lemon zest
4 Cinnamon sticks
4 Cloves
4 Malagueta balls (small chili peppers)
1 pinch of Salt
Preparation
Step 1 : The melon is washed, peeled, seeds removed, and cut into thick strips.
Step 2 : In a large pot, place the cut melon, both sugars, grated panela, cloves, cinnamon sticks, malaguetas, and lemon zest.
Step 3 : Cook over medium heat with a little water until the melon releases liquid.
Step 4 : Add a pinch of salt and cook for 30 minutes, or until it reaches the desired consistency.
Step 5 : Once ready, let it cool and serve cold.
